Before leaving New Zealand a couple of my friends and I decided to take one last trip to the South Island. This photograph was taken in Portage during a hike on the Queen Charlotte Track. This spot is particularly significant to me because I visited the same location twice. By the end of my time in New Zealand I had become especially aware of the extraordinary beauty of the sunsets.  What stood out to me as I sat with my friends and reflected on the past few months was how much different the sunset looked that night compared to a few months earlier. It was just one more reminder of the variety of landscapes I had been able to encounter.
